First Round of the Into the Box 2026 Agenda Is Live

Into the Box 2026 marks an important moment for the CFML and BoxLang community not just because of what’s on the agenda, but because of what it represents: 20 years of Ortus Solutions helping teams move forward, modernize, and build with confidence.

As the ecosystem continues to evolve, teams are balancing the realities of maintaining critical legacy applications while adopting modern tools, architectures, and practices. Into the Box has always been about meeting developers where they are and giving them practical paths to what’s next.

  • This initial release includes:
    • 4 full-day, hands-on workshops
    • 10 conference sessions
    • A strong focus on BoxLang, modern CFML, AI, testing, serverless, and real-world modernization

And this is just the beginning, more sessions and workshops will be announced in the coming weeks.

🛠️ Workshop Day: April 29, 2026

Our Workshop Day is designed for teams and developers who want to go deep and leave with practical skills they can apply immediately.

BoxLang AI Bootcamp: Zero to Hero

A hands-on, one-day introduction to building AI-driven applications using BoxLang’s native AI module. Learn how BoxLang provides a unified, fluent API across multiple LLM providers—without vendor lock-in or SDK complexity.

Instructors: Luis Majano, Jacob Beers

Dynamic Serverless Applications

Learn how to build serverless applications with BoxLang and AWS Lambda—from planning and routing to deployment and maintenance. This workshop explores real cost savings and performance benefits for small sites, PoCs, and low-traffic workloads.

Instructors: Dan Card, Daniel Garcia

Behavior-Driven Development with TestBox

An introduction to Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and how to apply it using TestBox. Participants will work with behavior-focused tests, readable specifications, and structured test suites to improve confidence and quality.

Instructor: Eric Peterson

Converting Your Existing Application to BoxLang – Getting Started

A practical guide to evaluating and beginning the transition of an existing CFML application to BoxLang. Covers compatibility considerations, migration paths, and realistic starting points for modernization.

Instructors: Brad Wood, Jon Clausen

🎤 Conference Sessions: Day 1 (April 30, 2026)

Day one dives into AI-powered development, modernization, serverless APIs, and testing, with sessions focused on real productivity gains.

🎤 Conference Sessions: Day 2 (May 1, 2026)

Day two continues with internationalization, language internals, AI-powered JVM apps, and BoxLang adoption paths.

More to Come

This first agenda release represents just the beginning of what we have planned for Into the Box 2026. Additional sessions, speakers, and workshop details will be announced in the coming weeks.

If you’re working with CFML today or planning to modernize with BoxLang this event is built to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

Introducing the BoxLang Spring Boot Starter: Dynamic JVM Templating for Spring

Spring Boot developers know the pain of evaluating view technologies. Thymeleaf is great — until you need more expressiveness. FreeMarker is powerful — until the syntax fights you. What if you could write templates in a dynamic JVM language that gives you the full power of the platform, feels natural, and requires zero setup to integrate?

Meet the BoxLang Spring Boot Starter.

Why Swiss Banks Are Modernizing CFML Platforms Without Rewrites

Why Swiss Banks Are Modernizing CFML Platforms Without Rewrites

The growing need to evolve legacy financial platforms safely

Many Swiss banks and financial institutions still operate important systems built on ColdFusion and CFML platforms.

These systems manage a wide range of functions, including:

  • internal banking workflows
  • reporting systems
  • client portals
  • data integration platforms
  • compliance and risk management tools

In many cases, thes...

Reactive vs Proactive ColdFusion Support: Why Waiting for an Outage Is the Most Expensive Strategy

Reactive vs Proactive ColdFusion Support: Why Waiting for an Outage Is the Most Expensive Strategy

Many ColdFusion environments operate in a reactive mode without realizing it.

Everything seems fine… until something breaks.

A server crashes.

Performance drops suddenly.

An integration stops working.

A security audit reveals missing patches.

At that point the response is urgent:

“Can someone help us fix this now?”

Emergency support is sometimes unavoidable. But when reactive intervention becomes the norm, it usually means something deep...
